What is a design retainer?
A design retainer is a fixed monthly fee for a design team that’s always available to your company. Instead of quoting each job or hiring a designer, you send briefs to one team that already knows your brand. At Druff, one retainer buys one slot: one of your jobs in production at any moment, the rest in a queue you can see, most back within 24–48 hours. When the queue grows, you add a slot and two jobs move at once. Marketing, sales, HR and leadership all share the same slots, so everything your company produces looks like it came from one place.

How We Work
You brief. We move. You approve.
Your slot means one job in production at a time, always. Anyone in your company can send a brief (a request: “we need five ad variations by Thursday”) to Druff HQ, our client portal, where you can watch every job move. Briefs are worked in order, you approve each one, and the next starts. No hourly billing. No scope meetings. No chasing.
The Druff way
- Brief — Drop the request into Druff HQ. Two lines and a link is enough.
- Plan — Your brand manager confirms scope and due time the same day. The clock starts.
- Create — A designer who already knows your brand builds it in Figma, from your brand library.
- Refine — Feedback goes into the same job. Revisions are included. A new direction is a new brief.
- Deliver — Senior-checked, in the formats you need, and added to your brand library. Your slot moves to the next brief.

Questions people ask before they sign
Is there a contract?
Month to month. 30 days’ notice. Onboarding is once-off.
What counts as one brief?
Twenty-four hours covers five ad variations, an email layout, a hero section or a social banner kit. Forty-eight hours covers a landing page UI, a ten-slide deck or a brand guideline update. Anything bigger is quoted, the same day, at 10% off for retainer clients.
Who decides what goes first?
You name one queue owner. Anyone can brief; only they reorder. Everyone sees where their job sits.
What if I need two things at once?
Add a slot.
What if I only send one brief?
If your queue is empty, your brief starts the same day. You never wait behind your own work.
What counts as urgent?
A 24-hour brief that jumps your queue and starts within four working hours. Two a month per slot are included; extras are R5 000 if the pod can take it.
Do you build websites?
We design them, dev-ready in Figma, and hand off to your developers or a partner we recommend. We don’t code.
Can I pause?
Once a year, for a month, with 30 days’ notice, after your first three months. Your library stays; your place in the queue doesn’t.
Who owns the work?
You do, on payment. Leave, and you get a full export of your library.
Do revisions use up my slot?
No. Revisions happen on the same job. A completely new direction is a new brief.
Can more than one person send briefs?
Yes. Unlimited briefs from unlimited users, from any department. They queue in the order you set and your brand manager keeps the order honest.
